Hi all,

Recently joined and found a lot of interesting posts already, what a great forum!

I've decided to start playing again after a five year break and looking to join a local team. Finding a new club and team is hard when you don't know anyone!!

I'm probably the most inconsistent player ever to play the game. I've made an 86 and 88 (both clearances) in practice and a 67 in a match as well as a some 50s, 40s and 30s. My aim is to make a century (preferably in a match!) so hopefully I'll get there with the help of The Snooker Forum. And hours of practice.

Ha! I stopped when I moved down to Bristol Byrom. But recently, completely out of the blue, I really started to miss playing. I'm a bit of a strange one as I'd make a decent break in one frame, and couldn't hit a barn door in the next - so inconsistent. Reading quite a bit about dominant eyes and aiming lines on the forum - never knew any of this so hoping it helps.

DeanH - I'm just outside Bristol. Fingers crossed I think I've found somewhere and i'm popping in next week. It wasn't easy though! Should be an interesting first frame after a 5 year break!

Sign up for a team tell them you never played before get a massive plus handicap - win everything and buy yourself a Trevor white cue with your winnings. That's a good way to get yourself going - no pressure to perform then - should help shake off the ring rust.

That's a great idea! And I do need a new cue. I have a cue built by Kevin Muncaster (which I love) but he's had to shorten it twice because I knackered the ferrule. I was 99% sold on a Mike Wooldridge Legend but will check out Trevor White. Once I've won the club handicap!
