  • Hello World

    Hello,

    Just thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Sam and I've been playing Snooker and Pool on and off since I was very young. I have recently turned 18 and have started to get back into playing Snooker again at my local Snooker Hall in Derby.

I try to practise 6 days a week whether it be against other players or just individual practise. I have recently found myself spending majority of my day down at the snooker hall because i just love playing.

I currently use a mid range Britannia 3/4 snooker cue (£69.00)
    Length:57'
    Tip size:9.5mm
    Weight:19oz

However I'm looking to buy a John Parris Cue as i believe these are the best handmade cues in the world. Although very expensive which is my only downside so it all comes down to how much I'm going to be using it.

Looking forward to get involved with the forum in the future!

    Cheers,
    Sam.

    Welcome to TSF Sam
There are many other makes of cues that are available that easily match Parris cues for quality and playability, and often much cheaper
Some John Parris cues are good value, all depends on the model.
Don't restrict your options - yes Parris can be a nice cue - only saying don't miss a possibility of find "the one" just because it doesn't say Parris on the badge - have an open mind
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

Which Parris model/s would you personally say is the best regarding to quality and value? I suppose a factor of it comes down to personal preference especially when it comes to finding "the one". Any other makes you would recommend?

Yes, very true. Well, I suppose it depends on whether you're ordering a special, paragon or ultimate JP cue. Also it depends on whether its a one piece cue or a 3/4. One pieces take a lot longer than 3/4 i think
Special and Paragons have a 16 - 24 weeks delivery time but 12 - 14 months if one piece.
Ultimate cues have a 12 - 18 months waiting time for 3/4 but 40 - 50 months for one piece.

I know someone who ordered a ultimate cue for JP back in April 2013 and still waiting for it.

Think I'm going to take a look at Glover cues.
