  • Hi from Derbyshire (and seeking tuition)

Just saying hello, I have just joined this forum - it's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm 23 and haven't played snooker since I was 14 - although due to a chance in circumstances I'm now looking to start up again and take it more seriously.

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone from the Derbyshire / Staffordshire area know of anyone who would be willing to do some very basic tuition? Nothing mega expensive, just play a few frames and give tips etc? I'm pretty rusty and don't feel confident enough to go somewhere no my own yet!

See you all around the board,
    Simon

Try the Cueball club in Derby. There's a guy there called Roger Stevenson-Revil who coaches someone I know. I'm sure he can give you some pointers.

Thanks for the help, I'll try them tomorrow. Do I just phone and ask for his details?

I would ring first and then go over and meet him.

Thanks for the welcomes chaps. I've been practising a little, I really need some tuition / someone to play against to help me improve though. Not had any luck so far - anyone local to Derby fancy a game?

Hey there sime and welcome to tsf... it shouldnt really be that difficult finding someone to help you out, if youre looking for someone to play with jus drag a couple of ya mates down with ya and get them to start playing.. surely you must know a few people who have an interest in snooker? slowly slowly u will improve and hopefully reach a decent standard..
