  • Hello, i'm a new member looking for some info :)

Hello all, this is my first post, and I have a question I hope someone can help me with, or point me in the right direction atleast.

My Grandfather was the Irish under 21's snooker champion in the 1920's.
I don't know the exact year, but I guess between 1925-1930 (he was born in 1909).
He was also apparently presented with a gold tip cue by King George V (which he subsequently left in a pub, and never saw it again).

His name was Terence Conleth Lynch, born in Naas, Ireland.

I am trying to find some information on him, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks for your time.

    Simon.

    Hi Simon,

thats an interesting story as I'm of Irish descent with my father being raised in a tiny town called Trim in County Meath.

I think your best bet is to go to Naas and search the births/deaths register and ask around the drinking holes. As an added bonus you can treat it as a holiday!

It sounds like a tough task finding information like that, but good luck!
