    No i dont consider it unsporting yes its negative but players should play to theire strengths and if he will gain a better advantage from snookering rather than pot the ball that what he should do regarding the limited ability that player might have....

      Yes it was unsporting from Ronnie. But it was unsporting from Robidoux in the first place ... needing so many snookers he couldn't possible expect to comeback into the frame. It was done purely to make the match last and frustrate his opponent.
      And Ronnie's safety play may not have been as good as it is today, it was fairly good nonetheless. He just didn't like to play safe ... ... usually.
      I wonder if John Virgo still does impersonations on the holiday circuit - he should reenact this incident playing both the roles of Robidoux and the Rocket. The video of him in the mid-80s aping Reardon, Spencer, Taylor and Higgins is just priceless.
