Re spoting

Hi everybody

I have a question about re-spoting a ball, the other day i was playing a game with a friend and this happens: I potted the pink, when my friend tried to re-spot the pink the spot was covered by the blue so , what was the correct spot, bare in mind the black spot was open as well , I spoted it at the black, some one else told me it was wrong it should have gone to the blue spot, can any one advice?

Also what happens when you pot then black and again it's spot it's covered and no other color spot is available?

The pink should be spotted on the highest spot available so you were correct to put it on the black spot.
The black goes nearest to its own spot in a straight line with its spot and the black cushion.
That applies to any ball when it cannot be spotted on it's own spot and every other spot is already taken.

Yes, a ball will always be spotted on the highest value spot which is free. However, if you've got two balls to spot, then take care what you do! Spot the ball which will go on its own spot first, and then spot the other one. So... if you have to spot blue and black, but the only available spots are blue and brown, then blue goes on its own spot and then black would go on brown spot. If neither own spots are available, only green and brown, then black would go on brown and blue would go on green! Clear as mud?

Thanks again, I m guessing when a situation like that is at hand a free ball has to occur or a foul, correct?

For multiple colours to be re-spotted, they had to have left the playing surface (in a pocket or off the table) so a foul would have occurred
Depending on the situation of all the balls on the table after the respot and what is the Ball On, a Free Ball could be an option, but not always
