  • Break building help

Hi as the title says I'm after some tips and practises for improving my break building, at the moment my average break is 19 and my highest break is 25 I used to be able to get breaks of 70 before I had to take a break any advice is appreciated

Well if you used to get 70 breaks then surely you know what to do already? Just a matter of practice till it comes back, can't beat a straight forward line up to get the confidence up, then move onto a line up but only playing for black each time

The best way to practice break building in my opinion is to set the reds up like they would be in a frame, this could range from 6-15 reds at once. This is the only time you'll be playing shots that come up in matches. You can practice the line up all day and it might improve some of your positional play but it won't give you shots that you get in matches.

              It helps with ball control.

Some of the training videos by Barry are fantastic

Yes, I don't argue that, but break building is all about playing little cannons and knowing which shots to play to make it easier to clear the table.
