cue tip to cue ball

i'm misjudgeing how close my tip is to the cue ball.always farther back than it should be.what's a good routine to be more accurate in judgement for closeness.....thanks

get someone to watch you, side on, and do it regularly to check youre addressing the ball beofre striking at "your preferred distance".

alternatively, a long cheap mirror, placed at the side of the table, or on the wall, will allow you to address the cueball and stop "mid stroke" to view your actual distance of tip to ball, and also your bridge.

will do....would regular glasses be adequate for the novice for now or are the custom pool glasses a must have in your opinion.my budget is tight right now or else i'd get both.thanks...

if when you get your eyes tested and they arent "great", try contact lenses first

I wear regular specs... and hardly ever see through them !!!!! always seem to view over the tops, rely on "the force" for long shots ! LOL

you can make (mould) a device to help your glasses sit so that they dont slip down and ensure you can view through the "centre" of the lense.....

wont be perfect for all shapes and sizes of glasses, but trial and error will see you satisfied with what you make, eventually. [seen some folk make things to do this]

now that's a great idea for me...i would experiment with a dollar pair of glasses until i got it the way i want.although contacts are probably the best way to go i foresee difficulty for me as i can't even get eye drops in properly.(haha)...thanks

if you do go down this road, try using clear plastic / the existing material on glasses that sit on your nose....this way, what you add on wont be very noticeable, and its quite easy to cut and or heat and reshape
