I agree. Both to the welcome and to the wishes. I am very glad that Paul decided to compete. Very brave. He could have gone home and felt sorry for himself. Good choice, whatever the match results might be. He says he answers all the letters & emails he receives. Have you sent him any ?
Hi Liam, like evrybody my thoughts and wishes are with Paul and his family lets hope he gets through this and were talkin about him in 10 years time as having joined the exclusive group of world champs - i think he has a few in him i wish him look in for 2morrow and with his treartment

Thanks alot everyone, I wont be too sad if Paul has too pull out of the World Championships after his scan (next week) because there are alot more important things as this has proved.
I don't know, I've never tried to contact him. His site is there so I think you could find some info about his address. As you might have read in his latest interview ( it's here, on the forum, look at the HOME page ), PAUL is probably the only snooker star that still answers all the messages he receives. Look what JIMMY said yesterday : "It's a lot for Paul to beat. But he is a young lad and I know he can do it. He is being so brave and it's hard to explain how he's feeling. With me it was a quick in-and-out job. I was diagnosed on the Sunday and went for the operation on the Wednesday. I was back playing the next week. I just wish him all the best and he knows he has the support of everyone in the snooker world. I was at Frankfurt Airport on the way to Beijing for the China Open when I saw Paul. He was very quiet and just said 'hello Jim.' I thought then there was something wrong. I suspected it was a personal thing but I never realised it was as big as this. Then when we were in China he just grabbed me and two bottles of vodka later we had it all out. He's such a lovely lad, so down to earth with no airs and graces. He knows he can ring me anytime and I will drive anywhere to see him. It's just a shame he can't have an operation rather than the chemotherapy. Paul's preparation must be impossible. But it's probably better he plays so he's got something to take his mind off what's ahead."
It was really good to see Hunter playing on Thursday and it will be tomorrow as well. I'm sure he'll get a huge ovation and lets all just hope that next year he'll be back to 100% and winning titles again.
I thought he'd blown any chance of winning the worlds when he lost to Doherty in spectacular crash fashion a couple of years ago - but if he can beat cancer then he will be a very dangerous man on the table, he could do a Lance Armstrong and win it 7 times in a row!
oh I do hope so ! But what worries me is something Jimmy said - and was obvious anyway : "It's just a shame he can't have an operation rather than the chemotherapy." Is this stupid cancer inoperable ?... If so, it really looks bad...
I don't know a right lot about it but they've removed the cysts haven't they? So I assume he is tumor free at the moment and the chemotherapy (pills) will kill off the cancer cells that remain. There are plenty of people who fully recover, but I'm worried for Hunter as well
he finds courage in dire situations where most would crumble and wither, he's added to the 1 in 3 stat; hopefully in the future they'll be able to find a cure.
there's also a way for us all to use our PC's to help find that cure too apparently, similar to the SETI project. http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ there's a downloadable piec of software that number crunches when your PC can afford to spare the resources - I#ve not used it but may be someone can track down a reliable source.
Let's hope paul doesn't have another reason to wear his bandana
Head Still...Follow Through...Keep it Tight...Never Give Up...Ton 'em if you can!
Let's hope paul doesn't have another reason to wear his bandana
...I was waiting to see if someone else mentioned that, twas the first thing I thought of when I heard the news but thought it in too bad taste to mention it
