  • New on here, looking for snooker partner, North Yorks/Darlington/Teesside

Hi - I've recently moved to North Yorkshire (Richmond) UK and I'm looking for someone to play snooker with probably in Darlington.

I'm a enthusiastic amateur, age late 30's top break 40 odd - let me know if you're interested

I would accept if I was closer. But I'm from London.

Done a thread like this and manged to find 1 person so far, Thai_Son.
But still not a regular partner due to work. Still looking for someone who can do the time (I'm a late shift worker)

Good luck in finding someone, bloody hard nowadays.

Hi 147harris - that would be good, but I think its more like 45 mins Redcar to Darlo - bit far for a game of snooker?

Maybe one day we can have a session.
Ever played in Camberwell? Thats my regular for as long as I can remember.

Thats a really nice offer Gary.
I'd certainly take up that offer someday, just don't force me to drink, I get drunk necking a bud

Age aint nothing but a number in snooker I believe. As long as you still can see, with or with out specs

You're so lucky to have a table at home, it would be my goal to get one if I won the lottery. I'd be on it 24/7.

I can't play as much as I would like to due to work.

Only have a proper session 1-2 every few weeks. the rest is a race in meal breaks which is not good.

My highest in frame break is 62 (once only a long long time ago) and in practice is 96 or 97.

my average on a good day is 20-30.

K easy on the wine now

mate, you gotta always believe in yourself. no matter what. psychology is a major issue.

if you don't believe, you don't do....

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but everytime I play, I start by thinking to myself (Homer Simpson style) "lets have fun, and don't worry about my abilities because I know I can do it (I can in practice), just relax, and have fun" <---- right-ish frame of mind.
It only takes a couple of frames before my confidence is shattered again.
                          OH well.
Just have to learn to control my mind.
