Hi to all my names gaz

As you would think im new to the forum years ago i used to play the game alot going to my local club once a week with my old man. Soon we both found that work and other things were getting in the way and taking up all our time as alot of you could understand.

We did still continue to play once in a while and i would get my misses and mom to come with us and have a drink while they watched us play. My misses doesnt mind playing but finds it hard to play so she enjoys the pool table more.

recently me and the misses moved into our own place and i found that down the road was a little club with a couple of tables and a bar. Its nothing special but enough for me to have a couple of frames now and again.

One of my questions is that are there many members on here that go and play on there own or do you find taking someone with you to have a game better.

    Thanks
    Gaz

Hello Gaz and welcome. I'm like you, lost all my snooker partners due to same reasons.

I used to think going on my own would look wierd, and did feel wierd at first (only just started doing it last year).
But its just as good, as you can really practice then.
It just becomes normal after a few trips, but will get boring at times, but if you keep yourself occupied with routines, practicing you'd be surprised at how fast time flys and the cost rise
But going on your own is normal and helps. Plus as you get known there'll be people to play with in future which is a bonus!
Plus you can record yourself for break and fault references to improve too.

Thanks for the welcome guys it doesnt really bother me if i was playing on my own i that way i can just get on with it at my own speed. My misses said im a billy no mates. But i said it would be better than stopping in all night on my own while see goes out on her girly night outs with her mates from work.

              Thanks again
              Gaz
