Bit previous perhaps but thinking Shaun Murphy might be in with the chance this year? Karma and all that. 20 years after his first win. Could he be the first person to win the world championship TWICE as a qualifier? He’s sitting as world ranked 19 atm so still chance for him to squeeze into top 16.

He’s ranked 19th on the provisional for the World Champs. Have a look at snooker.org. There’s still a few tournaments to go before The Crucible so if he put string together a few good performance he’ll obviously move up.
Neil Robertson right on the edge at 16 so needs to get his finger out.
I find this time of year really interesting as the scramble for ranking points hots up. Who can squeeze into top 64 is also worth a look.

Ah right gotcha, the wording on your original post was a little confusing! He is 19th on the 'race to the crucible' provisional seedings list (with all remaining 2023 prize money removed).

OFFICIALLY, he is still 6th in the world, as prize money does not actually get taken off until the eve of the start of the corresponding tournament (for seeding purposes etc)
