Below are the results of the China Open Semi-final Predictions.
Please check your score (and anyone else’s as you wish) and report any queries by 11:57p.m. on Monday 2 April 2007 (48 hours after the table below was added). Queries should be made by replying to this thread. You are reminded that queries raised outside of this timescale cannot normally be considered for correction.
There was an eleven-way tie for first place, which was resolved in the following way:
(a) Total number of correct match-winners predicted:
davis greatest and Kingscratcher: 1
Alex0paul, Austrian girl, dawnie, edinmis, gensdon, Mullwarp, PaulTheSoave, Rane and Valderie: 2
This eliminates davis greatest and Kingscratcher.
(b) Total frames difference between actual and predicted scorelines:
Alex0paul, Austrian girl, PaulTheSoave and Rane: 3
edinmis, Mullwarp and Valderie: 4
dawnie and gensdon: 5
This eliminates dawnie, edinmis, gensdon, Mullwarp and Valderie.
(c) Highest break:
Actual: 117 (Graeme Dott)
Alex0paul: 128
Austrian Girl: 130
PaulTheSoave: 128
Rane: 131
This eliminates Austrian girl and Rane.
(d) This brings us to the final criterion (for the first time ever, I believe), which is earliness of posted predictions, and PaulTheSoave predicted before Alex0paul.
Therefore, congratulations to PaulTheSoave for winning the round.
Please note also that April madness gained a bonus point for correctly guessing the overall highest break of the round, which was Graeme Dott’s 117.
