So the last places are not sorted out? Those who score 2 points can be higher overall than those who scored 3 points?

Yeah! I thought I did well!
        Congrats Mark!

So the tie-break was basically determined by how far away we were from the high break?
There was a 7-way tie for first place, which was resolved as follows:
A head-to-head for each round was carried out between the seven Predictors, for each round, scoring 1 for 1st etc. down to 7 for 7th, and the results compared.

Statman, I think you have to recalculate, HB in the first round was 88 (at least according to Global Snooker- fingers crossed).
I for one should do better with that result.

I am looking into the query – please keep revisiting this page to see when the final result is comfirmed.

Here is the tie-break procedure for the Overall competition:

13b – In the case of a tie for first place in the Overall Tournament Contest, the following procedure will be carried out. Ties for lower positions will remain tied.
                (a) The total number of correctly predicted match winners in the entire tournament will be considered, with the more/most being given priority.
                (b) If a tie for first place still exists, a head-to-head will be carried out for each round, between the tied Predictors, giving 1 point for coming 1st, 2 for 2nd etc. down to the number of Predictors tied. (Joint figures will be given the midway figure so that the same number of points are awarded for every round – e.g. in a three-way tie where two Predictors scored equal highest in one round, they will be given 1½ points each). The lower/lowest total will be given priority.
                (c) If a tie for first place still exists, the total of frames difference between predicted and actual score, for each match where the correct winner was predicted, will be considered. The lower/lowest total will be given priority.
                (d) If a tie for first place still exists, the total of points difference between predicted and actual high break for each round will be considered. The lower/lowest total will be given priority.
                (e) If a tie for first place still exists, the difference between the highest of the Predictor’s predicted high breaks and the actual highest break of the tournament will be considered. The closer/closest will be given priority.
                (f) If a tie for first place still exists, a head-to-head similar to that in (b) will be carried out, with regard to the earliness of the posted predictions. The lower/lowest total will be given priority (where a Predictor altered predictions, the latest alteration will count).
                (g) If a tie for first place still exists, a discussion will take place as to how (or whether) to resolve it.

The highest break in the first round WAS 82 by Ken Doherty. He then potted the red (which shouldn't have counted) followed by pink and colours clearance to complete an unofficial 116 break. (The GSC scor is wrong also in that it did not give Hednry the 4 points for the foul.)

                (a) Since none of the tied Predictors scored a high-break bonus, and 1 point was the maximum score for a match, this section can be ignored because it will not resolve the tie.

                (b) Therefore we will have to do part (b), where I do a 7-way contest for each round, giving 1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd ... and 7 for 7th (ties are arranged so that the midway figure is given):

In this the semi-final can be disregarded since all scored 2 point. In the first round Mitsuko was 1st (1 point) and everyone else joint 2nd (4½ points); in the final Mitsuko was 7th (7 points) with the others joint 1st (3½ points).

So the tie is still not broken.

                (c) This can be disregarded since all matches were 1–0

                (d) Total difference between highest break come in:

                <table border=1>

                <tr><td>Predictor</td><td>First round</td><td>Semi-finals</td><td>Final</td><td>Total
                difference

                </td><td>

                (63) 17

                </td></tr></table>

Therefore, I was indeed wrong in my initial calculations, so I apologise and will update the final scoreboard shortly.

If anyone has any definitive information that the highest break of the first round was other than 82 I would be grateful if they would let me know.

That should do. I mean even if the HB were 88, GF would still win this round (which is the most important to know). Good fun competition!

                    Wow I'm doing quite well
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
