Interesting to see that only 147 break has more than 3 correct guesses, both times aswell.
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

That has now ceased to be the case, after the highest break in the Welsh Open first round (137) was correctly guessed by 4 Predictors.

So, in the Welsh Open, of a possible 10336 points which were available, only 1678 were scored – a total of 16.2%

It would appear that, as a general rule, around ⅓ of available points are usually scored, whereas in the Welsh the figure is less than half that.

I wonder if the following is true. If someone would have predicted according to the ranking the players are having at this moment, would that particular person would have scored most points? Not taking the score and HB into account. These calculations might take some time though!

Well why don't you predict like that on the next tournament, and see whether you do better!

Very drole, Sir. If I would pick one tournament it would be not significant enough. I hoped you would have a spare weekend, somewhere after The China Open. Your having The Stats, not me!
