Gerard Greene will have a walk-over and proceed to the next round. In fact, the worldsnooker draw sheet has been updated to reflect this.

Yes, it's covered in Rule 8, which states that all matches which do not reach a scheduled conclusion will not count.

So, for prediction purposes, the round will consist of 15 matches rather than 16.

      Rule 8:

      8 WALKOVERS –
Any match which, for whatever reason, is not played fully to a conclusion will be disregarded. This includes cases where a player does not show at all, and where a player retires before the due conclusion of the match; this also includes any matches incorrectly listed in (or incorrectly missing from) the draw as shown on the opening message of the predictions thread.

Ding is in the last 32 and his first match in UK is on the Dec 9, so he can make it. Fu is in the last 48 of the UK. His 1st match was to be played around 5th/6th which clashed with the Asian games.

I was surprised that Fu pulled out to play in the Asian games. Don't know if he was forced or if it was personal decision.

Fu starts to play at UK a round earlier than Ding, I think (Ding as a last years champion starts Last 32 round)

he would have been forced to do it. The UK is the second biggest ranking event on the main tour. There is no way he would want to miss that especially considering the money and ranking points.

I suspect that too. He's not had the best of seasons so far and with missing the UK, he might even be in danger of losing his place in the top 32.

I thought that Uk chmpionship is abit more important than Asian games
Or maybe he thinks he got more chances in Asia??

Well,we don't know if it was a personal dicision or if he was told to play the Asian Games.Maybe he would rather have played the UK, cause it might have helped his ranking.
