  • Monetary (just for fun) prediction contest

I thought that this season I might complie something in parallel with the Prediction Contest, which gives £££s for correct predictions. Please note there is no REAL money involved in this!

What happens is, for each match in which the correct winner is predicted, you get the amount of money for the loser in the next round (or the top prize if it's the final).

So, if you predict a first-rounder in the Welsh Open, you might get £5,000 added to your score, whereas if you get the world final correct you'll get £250,000.

I might actually tweak it a little so that it is based on the number of points scored in the contests, rather than number of matches, since this can be calculated much more straightforwardly – it is very possible to score the same number of points but not have correctly predicted the same number of winners. But I'll see how much time each method takes up for Shanghai and choose the method that best suits me.

In any case, excluded would be any round that is run on a round-robin basis, and all the Premier League where the prize money structure is not necessarily an exact science.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea!

If I understood it correctly then I think it sounds like a good idea.

If I didn't understand it correctly then I'm sure that I think it's a great idea anyway as I always think the things you're behind are great ideas

        Forgot to mention:

This would just be an overall winner announced at the end of the season.

Also excluded would be wildcard rounds.
