This is the thread on which you should make your predictions on the first round (Round Robin) of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.
Please note the Rules (http://www.thesnookerforum.com/predi...-for-4242.html) – particularly, note that it is in your interest to use THIS MESSAGE as basis of your post, rather than basing it on a previous predictor's post in the assumption that (s)he has correctly copied the draw.
The deadline is the scheduled start of play, which is 11:30a.m. BST on Saturday 13 October 2007.
IMPORTANT NOTES CONCERNING THIS ROUND’S PREDICTIONS
Please take a few moments to read the following requirements for the layout of your post FOR THIS ROUND ONLY, which is necessary to prevent the posts from being exceptionally long.
For each group, the players are given code numbers, from 1 to 6.
Alongside player No.1’s name, you should predict his match against Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in that order, after the colon provided. Player 1’s predicted score should be given first in each fixture.
Alongside player 2’s name, you should predict his match against Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6 in that order.
And so on, down to No. 5. Player 6 will not have any predictions alongside his name.
Remember, you can press “QUOTE” at the bottom of this post, and then the draw as I have typed it will appear in your message box. You can then delete all this introductory blurb (and the [/QUOTE] code at the end) and just add your scores in.
Here is the start of a sample prediction post. The red type denotes the entry the Predictor has made (you do not need to use red type):
In this example, Neil Robertson is predicted to win every match except against No.3. Stephen Lee is predicted to win every match except against No.1 (which appears in Neil Robertson’s row) and No.5.
At the end of each group, predict the group winner.
At the end of the entire post, predict the overall highest break of all 120 matches.
Please note also that notification of the results of this round will most likely be later than usual, since the Round Robin section takes about 2½ days to mark during the time that I will be ravelling to Aberdeen!
By the way, you do not have to do the maths based on your predictions to work out the predicted group winner – you can predict ANY player as group winner even if your match predictions suggest otherwise.
Scoring is: Correct winner and scoreline, 1 point. Correct winner, wrong scoreline, ½ point.
A bonus point will be given for each group winner correctly predicted, and, as usual, for the correct highest break.
