I was sat in section B, row F, I think, about five rows behind Ronnie's chair, right next to the aisle.
Also next to a very hot guy.
Mon was taking pix.

a report of a sort ...

Once again I'd like to thank Matchroom and Donna in particular for having allowed me to take pictures and given access to the players and press room.
When I arrived in the press room with BC, Ronnie, Joe Perry and Steve Davis were there. I was surprised because Ronnie and Davis were dressed for the match: I expected them play the second match not the first.
Both Ronnie and Joe looked relaxed and were chatting in friendly fashion. Took pics of BC with both of them ... thanks to both for accepting with a big smile. I also added some belgian choccies to the "buffet" that was on offer.
Then BC went to take her seat and I went to the arena to take pics of match 1. Steve Davis played badly and hyper defensively. Ronnie was not finding his gear neither. He did however play some very good safety and made a good few solid breaks. But somehow he must have forgotten in long game at home and he was obviously frustrated with some easy misses and poor positional shots. He took it in good humour though, laughing at Steve's ultra defensive breakoffs producing a record number of touching balls and faked some cue bangings at his own mistakes. At the end Davis disappeared, he was obviously very annoyed with himself, while Ronnie signed a zillion autographs especially for a group of disabled persons that were there. Had a word with each of them..
During the interval between the matches I went back to the press room to change films and I found Ronnie in a conversation with Stephen Hendry. They were both expressed sadness at Davis poor performance. Ronnie said something like " I so much wanted for him to take a frame. I gave him many opportunities but he couldn't take any" and Stephen sighted sadly. They then discussed the table - very fast - and the cushions "moody". Stephen then left for the arena and Ronnie started changing cloths before having a go at the buffet
I went back to the arena and took pics from match 2. Stephen Hendry struggled and it pained me. Fair to Joe Perry though he played the best snooker on the evening. However after the match Stephen Hendry took time to sign autographs, and have pics taken with the fans ... He must have been very disapointed and I admired his bravery and kindness under the circumstances.
BC joined in the press room after the match and I took a pic of her with Clive Everton ... who proposed to marry her (if she wanted to)

we bring you frame by frame scores on GSC but don't have live point by point scoring I'm afraid.

If anyone wants to go to EIS to watch I'm told there's still some tickets available, which is rare because usually Prem League gets sold out pretty quick.
