Selby wins the 8th frame. Too little, too late surely ?

Was that Jo that Ronnie was hugging there after the match? I'm curious cuz he seemed genuinely happy with the win and if they're back together it could have a positive effect on him not just in snooker but in life as a wholeGive'em hell, Mark :snooker:

I totally agree, scoo24, about the positive effect.
And good on Ronnie, he played solidly, scored massively when in, punished Mark who hasn't actually been there for most of the match, sadly, and won a record fifth consecutive PL title.
Well done, Mr. O'S!
Despite the yellow moment. Which was also a peroxide blonde one.S.P.I.L.F.

I think part of why Mark wasn't playing well is because as you said he was being punished for nearly every mistake he made and the more you get that done to you the less confident you become but all credit to Ronnie for taking his chances, you can only play the player that's in front of you on the day. Mark also possibly put a lot of pressure on himself trying *too hard* to bring yesterday's form in tonight's game.
It was nice seeing Ronnie seeming so genuinely happy with the victoryGive'em hell, Mark :snooker:

And to further support my point, I could also mention this:http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2003...r.cliveeverton
Ronnie O'Sullivan made five centuries in beating Alan McManus 9-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Travis Perkins UK Championship at The Barbican, but afterwards confessed that, between sessions, "I cried in my bath for 20 minutes. There's so much emotional stuff going on that I haven't dealt with."
I for one think that personal happiness is more important than the number of titles won; no one should have to make that choice but truth is we make it every day and on fortunate occasions a temporary compromise can be reached whereas on less fortunate ones one of them has to go. Hope it's the former here.
I applaud their attempt to get back together and try to offer their children a normal family life and themselves some stability in the process.S.P.I.L.F.
