Below are the provisional results of the Quarter-final Prediction Contest for the Welsh Open.
Please check your score (and anyone else’s as you wish) and report any queries within 48 hours of the date/time displayed at the top of this thread. Any queries raised after this time will not be considered.
A quick reminder of the scoring: 2 points for the correct scoreline; 1 point for correct winner with other scoreline.
There was a five-way tie for first place, which was resolved in the following way (this would have been a six-way tie if drlog147 had not posted new predictions at the last minute!):
Number of matches with correct winner predicted:
drlog147: 3 matches
marshall: 4 matches
matt01: 4 matches
Wim: 4 matches
YoDevon: 4 matches
The remaining four-way tie was resolved by looking at total frame difference between predicted and actual results:
Matt01: 6 frames difference
marshall: 5
Wim: 5
YoDevon: 5
The remainng three-way tie was resolved on high-break predictions:
actual: 108
YoDevon: 132
Wim: 134
marshall: 140
Therefore, provisional congratulations to YoDevon for winning the round.
Note also that nobody gained an extra point for correctly predicting the highest break, which was Shaun Murphy's 108.
