Below are the results of the First Round Prediction Contest for the Premier League.
Please check your score (and anyone else’s as you wish) and report any queries within 48 hours of the date/time displayed at the top of this thread. Any queries raised after this time will not be considered.
A quick reminder of the scoring: 2 points for the correct scoreline; one point for the scoreline one frame adrift.
Firstly, though, let me advise you that I have used my discretion in the following situation which the rules do not quite cover. pekmez made two predictions for the Selby-Ding match, in the same post: one for 5-1 and one for 4-2. I have therefore decided that it is in the spirit of the Contest not to allow either prediction for this match. 5-1 would have been worth 1 point, 4-2 worth 2 points; but I have not awarded any points. If you disagree with this decision perhaps you could let me know by making a post on this thread.
There was a three-way tie for first place, which was resolved by looking at the number of matches in which points were scored:
SD147: all four matches
Graemespeak: three matches
Anastasia: three matches
Therefore, congratulations to SD147 for winning the round.
Please note also that nobody gained a bonus point for correctly predicting the highest break of the round, which was Joe Perry’s 103.
Finally, may I apologise for the delay in bringing you this results thread.
