Below are the provisional results of the Quarter-final Prediction Contest for the Shanghai Masters.

A quick reminder of the scoring: 2 points for the correct winner and scoreline; one point for the correct winner with incorrect scoreline.

Provisional congratulations to Viktortheman for winning the round with a rare eight points out of eight – every match with correct scoreline!

Please note also that alvessnooker and Kingscratcher each gained a bonus point (not included below but marked with a *) for correctly predicting the highest break of the round, which was Ricky Walden’s 139.

Oh yes, and then someone got to ask: How many maximums has been made in prediction contests ? I guess it has been made at finals and maybe semifinals, but in a quarterfinal, well thats nearly surreal.

oh man! I did a very good predict this time didn't I? I knew that Walden would win over Davis with at least two frames and that Maguire-Day would come up to a decider. Am I like the first one who has predicted 8 right of 8 possible in a quaterfinale predict? I'm so proud of myself

It did cross my mind. I will have to dig into the archives and see; I can't remember it happening before in the quarter-finals but I'll have a look.

Yes it appears to be the first time there has been full marks in an eight-point round.

For the record, full points were scored in the last 8 of the Pot Black in 2007 (missneworleans) and 2006 (archicrooks and Mitsuko) – but that was of course best-of-1 and worth only one point each.

I have not found the archives for 2005-06 but I know I have them somewhere!

As The Overseas Prediction Champion in that particular season I still remember vividly I predicted all matches and scores first round world championship. Check your archive!

What is the record for predicting the right winner in sequence? Keeping to your match schedule, I have rightly predicted 14 consecutive match winners in this tournament. Off topic, Would I have made a nice little earner on this one, betting a few quid on those matches (all academic of course?
