But this doesn't specify which players to win. I'm very suspicious because you have chosen to tell us this now rather than at the start of the thread

Well, 9-5 does specify the winner because the first-named player is 9 and the second is 5.

I did forget to put them up at the start but, as dantuck 7 was not to blame for this, I don't feel he should be disadvantaged.

The rules do allow predictions to be made to me by alternative means, and it is (a) quite likely that I will not have internet available at that time – it is often people meeting up with me at the venue where neither of us has access to the site – and (b) specifically for those like Dan who have a temporary unavailability of access.

For the record, he sent me a PM before the tournament, saying he was away until the Welsh Open, and could I put his predictions up as the first-named to win, by 1 frame in the final; by 2 frames in the semis; and so on.

I still have the PM (and the same would go for texts/PMs) showing a date/time prior to the closing date.

      [Edit:] Here is the Rule:

8 – For those without access to the Internet at the required time, entries will be accepted by alternative means – such as by text message or email, as long as they are either (a) received before the deadline, or (b) received within 48 hours of the result of that round being notified, in such format that it can be demonstrated that the predictions were made before the commencement of those matches. Any predictions received after this time (whether or not sent in good faith within that timescale) cannot be accepted in any circumstances.
It is not expected that an alternative method should be used for reasons other than unavailability of access. For the sake of openness, predictions received by alternative means will be posted on the relevant thread by the organiser as soon as possible, and the date/time displayed on such message shall be considered to be the time at which the predictions were made (except that if the deadline has subsequently passed they shall be considered on-time).
