Just wondering if this will have an effect on the China Open. I would imagine that some of the players might be reluctant to travel to China.

That's a big loss. The calendar in the second half of the season looks healthy at first glance, but it has a lot of events that are only open to the top players, so to lose a traditional ranking event that is open to everyone leaves a big hole. Hopefully the 2020 edition of the event will instead be held in the first part of next season, assuming the situation is under control by then. It better be, as so many of the big events are now staged in China...
