        • That 147 was practically perfect.

Yes, precise control from JH, very pleased for him. As you say, almost perfect, Trump could do with taking a good look at that one.

            The fast and the furious,
            The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

            • Nearly always when I see Saengkham play I ask myself why he doesn't rank higher. He is playing very well again and has a well balanced all-around game. Must be a lack of consistency.

              • I missed the maxi. Will watch the replay. It is worth 55k I think. Last 147 by Hendry in 2012 and now another Scot breaks the 147 Jinx after 8 years at the crucible.

                • I reckon given how close previous attempts at a max have been we might see another before this championship is up .

Me too! I’m sure it’ll be shown again at some point. It’s never the same as seeing them live, though.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

                      • I think Higgins is probably the best player I've ever seen for stealing frames with tricky 60+ clearances.

Definitely. I call this a "higginsian break".

And Saengkham makes one of those to win the first session against Selby 5-3. Selby missed too many balls after the interval, losing the second part of this morning session 0-4.
