  • Good to see Ding grab the last frame, but he really should have been up 9-7 overall.
However hopefully it will be a close final session.

    • Thanks Dean, Jim.

      The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

      • Apparently though it was not on the final black, but at 44-65 as Dean said.
Here's a video about the incident, but not about the shot in question:

              • Jamie is new to The Crucible and the tight conditions when in a 2 table set up, however, he’s not new to the rules. Surely he’s played the game for long enough to no you don’t stand in your opponents line of sight. I wasn’t watching the match so don’t no what happened in the lead up to the incident. Maybe Anthony just getting upset cos he’s behind. Wouldn’t have thought Jamie needed to resort to dodgy tactics to win the match. Seems well in control. Hope Jan has sorted it all out and it is forgotten about.

                • He is posting stuff on twitter during the match? How about concentrating on the job at hand instead?

no, definitely after their session ended

of course I meant mid-session; or Clarke has "staff that does his social media" for him?

                    • As a general rule, snooker players are a lot more likable when they keep their mouths (or twitter accounts) shut. Must be something about spending their formative years practicing in isolation, but I don't think I've liked a single player more when they try to be 'controversial' or a 'bad boy'.

                      • McGill not such a 'charming man' after all then. Clarke wasn't in his eye line just not in his seat, probably didn't want to walk past him to his seat when he (McGill) was down on the shot. If I was Clarke I would have told Ver Hass 'OK, but the next time you walk in front of me when I'm down on the shot I'll demand another referee, works both ways bud'.

To be honest, seeing as there's no audience there's plenty of room to re-arrange the seating so the players don't have to sit right next to each other. Back in the bad old days of Embassy sponsorship I remember David Taylor getting a single chair away from the usual area because he didn't like his opponents fag on the go in the ashtray on the table they were sharing, if I was Clarke I'd do the same just to rile it up a bit, luv a bit of needle
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

Looks like it has. Could be coincidence, I suppose, but Clarke definitely seems to have been affected by their little altercation.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Joe Perry said in their match that Jamie Clarke kept moving in his eyeline when he was on the shot. You would have thought he would have been more conscious in this match about distracting his opponent given that. Joe Perry and Anthony McGill don't strike me as players to cause unnecessary aggro. Whole incident seemed to fire McGill up though, so we're in for an exciting final session. Maybe they could match up in the ring afterwards, like Mark King and Quentin Hann!
