I don't know what temperature the balls have to be at or what is the correct humidity but the table heaters definitely warm the balls up after a few frames.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Maybe, I wouldn't know as I've never played in modern conditions, but water vapour will condense from the atmosphere onto a colder surface. Also snooker has never really been a summer game in the UK as we tend to have high humidity along with high temperatures and not dry heat as in some countries, that's why the summer used to be the close season. I called this when the championship was announced for august, if it's hot then Trump will struggle, he freely admits he doesn't like heavy conditions and it will be a factor for all the participants, especially later this week when the thunderstorms arrive.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

I agree, snooker is hellish in the summer months, I cut down my playing to just the six days a week . Truth be told there are only about three decent frames in me when it's too hot or clammy , one or two at the start, then one near the end after I have given myself a talking to for playing rubbish for two hours. Sometimes , well most of the time, it's utter dross all the way through.

The way Clarke reacts with total surprise and trying to defuse it by going back to his chair doesn't suggest he was trying to put anyone off. Neither player has come off well out of this but Anthony reacted in the wrong way and deserves a warning.
This was my interpretation, too. McGill was getting hammered at the time and clearly the frustration of this was growing when he confronted Clarke.

Actually. at the point when McGill walks away from the shot to confront Clarke, he was in baulk and about to play a red at the other end, which is where Clarke was standing.

I didn't see the red so my mistake, but Clarke wasn't juggling knives or anything, McGill was getting hammered as you say and was either trying to get to Clarke or looking for an excuse to lose. Those cameras and the referees would get on my nerves tbh, constantly moving around and it's movement that catches your eye and puts you off.

I just nipped down the club for an hour on the match table, which has a cloth over two years old with hardly any nap, and it was slow and lifeless due to it being cloudy and hot with a heavy atmosphere, played well though

              • Nice to hear the World Seniors will be getting some proper BEEB coverage this year. I think it's Red Button only, but still better than the usual webcam feed.

BBC 2 just showed it again and there wasn't a red on the table, yellow over the top corner pocket the other side of the table where Clarke was standing and cue ball in baulk.

Yeah, saw that too. Sorry. Anyway, the point I was making is Clarke was standing at the end McGill was cueing towards.

                          I think it was 22 - 28 August.
