  • We are at 61 centuries so far this year. Can the all time record be broken this year?

Yep, everyone must bow down to the mighty BBC, what a joke. Talk about an overinflated ego.
Can an organisation actually have an ego? Well, they do and it is.

      The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

      • If Trump makes a 2nd final in a row, would he be the first to do it having faced qualifiers in back to back semi finals? Surely it's not happened for a while?

O'Sullivan missed quite a few balls and hit some thick safety shots where he clashed into the reds, so I think he will need to raise his game for the business end of the tournament. The draw couldn't really have worked out any better for him with Ding and Williams, but a best-of-33 against the winner of Selby-Robertson could be tough for him if he plays like he did in this match.
Hasn't Ding beaten Ronnie in their last two meetings? Both in majors as well. I wouldn't say it's an easy draw for a 2nd round match on paper. Williams in a 1/4 final is nice for him though, given their record. He'll definitely want Robertson to beat Selby!

        • I don't think we can just write off MJW. He can surely win it.

          • I feel sorry for Ding. He may never win the WC.

I look forward to Ronnie's next match and also to see if Kurt Maflin plays like he did in the last round :snooker:

More snooker to come with the seniors. Darren Morgan and Tony Drago among those in action

I don't understand why it matters. We're not talking buses or trains here. So the match starts at eight minutes past the hour instead of on it. So what? It matters even less when you consider there's no audience sat out there waiting.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Ding won the last one, in the UK Championship this season, but O'Sullivan had won the previous few. It's not just the head-to-head though. Apart from winning the UK Championship, Ding only made the QF of one other event all season, regardless of format. For a seeded player at the Crucible, that's shockingly inconsistent.

He was saying the same thing at one of those home nations events last autumn , he acts like amateurs get to play in events week in week out with star xing pai tables like the top paid pro’s do , also snooker is a physically negligible game anyway , he’s always duplicitous or silly when it comes to anyone else threatening his earnings .

The problem is that people turn on the TV at 7pm and then just sit there like idiots when nothing is happening. I am perfectly happy for the match to start eight minutes past, but then it should say that in the schedule. I can't think of any other sport where this sort of thing happens.

I just watched that interview with my wife (who isn't really into snooker). Her immediate response was to say "what an absolute w***er"......

                          ...sadly , I can't disagree.

All due respect to his sublime snooker skills but that interview was horrible. No class, no respect to his fellow players, to the great and challenging game of snooker, and certainly not to the fans he can't run away from fast enough.
