Joe Perry, Dave Farah and Rob Walker are all commentating this tournament. It's Rob Walker on the Selby/Robertson match with Alan McManus.

    • Just looking at Ronnie
what chalk is he using now
It used to always be Green Triangle but this looks like. Toam with the wrapping taken off so it’s bare chalk in his fingers .

      • Who would have thought McGill to be leading 3-0.

I guess he is still on a high from last night while Maflin has had to wait for this match . If it goes the distance then Maflin might be more on it due to that break while McGill might falter.
Only time will tell but i would prefer Maflin to get through as I like a more attacking style to watch .

          • Is it me or is ROS actually missing a lot of easy balls, yet not being called on it by the commentators? 3 blacks off the spot vs Ding, the red over the hole at 2-1 today, the pink just now etc.

            • Brilliant from Williams. Best i've seen him for 2 seasons.

I'd fancy McGill over the distance as he looks like he is playing well. Although his form hasn't been great last season or so, he didn't get into the top 16 by chance

                  • A surprising afternoon so far. We knew O'Sullivan wasn't quite at the top of his game given how many mistakes he made against Ding, but I wasn't expecting Williams to be this sharp in the opening session. He didn't miss much at all after the interval.

It will be interesting to see how the Selby-Robertson match goes tonight. Selby really threw away a potential big lead there, and I have my doubts whether he can match Robertson if Robertson starts playing anything like he has done for most of the season.

                    • If Ronnie, Judd and Robbo all lose, that's me done for this tournament

It will also mentally be difficult for Selby. Robertson lost the session 3-5, but will be relieved that it wasn't more and see this already as a small victory, while Selby knows he could/should have been up 6-2. The first couple of frames this evening could already point into the direction this match will take, if Robertson equals the score early.

                        • I know every match has to be played and pressure can be a burden. But anyone agrees, that Trump and Wilson are more or less already playing for the final spot? I don't see either losing to McGill or Maflin.

                          • With the current scores there should be some interesting matches coming up.
Williams is playing really well and Ronnie will have to step up his game to compete.
Of course the Ronnie obsessed fans will just say he is losing because he is playing bad

Normally i'd agree, but like in Darts, Dimitri Van Den Bergh winning his first TV title, i think the possibility of a huge surprise winner is very real

This is not normal snooker . the conditions and the break have levelled the playing field

Given the way Maflin was scoring previously on that form I would have said no it’s not a given . He would have to up his current game though just to overturn McGill . The occasion could be just a bit too much for him.
