Ursenbacher really imposed himself on that game and deserved the win. A good player who has a nice style and rhythm to his game.
I hope he gets through .

Looks a very good player that enjoys the tv situation ,scores fast too,if he gets through to the Crucible anyone in the top 16 won't want him in the first round .

                  • Well played King! They did touch hands at the end of the match.

Dominic was talking to Monika about the same at the end of his match I think.

                    • I was shocked by the weak performance of David Grace against Graeme Dott. And I regret I could not see Thepchayja Un-Nooh...

                      • David Grace highest break of only 26 . if Graeme Dort wins his next match, I bet not many of the Top 16 want to draw him in the first round .
Anthony McGill scored very impressively in his match .

Its a shame Mark and Ken has to play each other as they are very old friends from their junior days in Essex.
Gutted to see Ken off the tour but well deserved by Mark .

                          • Doherty hasn’t retired and he hasn’t entered q school , its interesting if these tour invitation cards were around under previous chairman like rodney walker in the dilution of integrity , i’ve read that best of 11’s for the opening rounds of crucible qualifying may be a permanent fixture to satisfy eurosport , and best of 5’s for the opening rounds of the q school just sounds undignified .

Indeed. Dott is still playing very, very well at some times.
So there were a few surprises to me in the 3rd round. I didn't expect Ali Carter (it's the first time since 2002 that he misses the World Championship) to lose clearly against Louis Heathcote and Joe Perry against Jamie Clarke. But it probably was also an advantage for the lower ranked players that they had a match already before (on these tables).
A bit sad that Doherty lost.
Great wins for Eden Sharav and Alex Ursenbacher!

We will get two final matches with two well-known names involved:
                              Graeme Dott - Martin Gould
                              Matthew Stevens - Ricky Walden

I agree, best of 5 for something so important to participating players is just plain ridiculous and quite insulting to them.

I used to play best of fives in some local handicap comps back in the day, hardly the same as Q school !
