You only get your 7500 if you win your first match . It's the same with the Worlds , the top16 only get ranking points if they win their first match .

I know I've already made the point but I'm going to make it again anyway because it's cropped up yet again... the damn re-rack!!
Why bother with tactical play at all?? Just bring in a new rule that says when more than two reds end up on a cushion a re-rack is suggested.
Oh, hold on... they do that already!
And why the feck does it always get a round of applause???"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

They didn't win a match there so they didn't do anything better than the players who didn't qualify. So they don't receive any ranking points - which I personally think is fine, cause it's already an advantage over most players on the circuit to gain more points there. So you don't need to reward them in that regard.
But they showed up to work, playing a few frames and so get paid for this.

I remember an interview with Dott where he mentions about going to a players dinner or awards night or whatever and different players were given expensive gifts. John Higgins got a bar of gold or something and Dott got a highlight DVD of him winning the tournament previously. I thought it summed up his treatment quite well.
