I would love to see Gould win this one after the issues he has previously mentioned but Selby is looking very good at the moment.

Whatever the final result Gould has really turned things around.

Great stuff from Martin, from the initial red of his comeback to the 131 last frame. Sets it up nicely for tonight.
Wonder where we'd be if the red Selby tried to move in frame 5 hadn't rolled quite so far. Nothing to do with luck though.

I fancy Gould to win it now.

Big win for Selby. He's definitely 'back'. 10 ranking final wins in a row for him. Very impressive.

18 ranking titles too. Joint 6th with Robertson.

Congratulations to selby. I feel a bit sad for Gould. He?s a great player to watch when things are going his way. Very unfortunate to get up against Selby. He?s a monster when it comes tot finals.

Unlucky Martin Gould. He’ll be having nightmares about that blue. Gave SnookerSpex a nice plug.

                    • Great improvement for Gould, from being on the verge of retirement and almost falling off the tour just a few months ago, he is now in the top 40. Good win for Selby.

                          • I only watched the last few games of the final as I was working but well done to both Gould and Selby on a great final.

I haven’t watched much of Selby playing before but I noticed how many facial twitches he has which seems to only come while he is playing.

Is this a new thing or has he always had them ?

Nice to see the forum working again. And nice to see the first ranking event of the season turning out that fine. That quarterfinal lineup really was as good as you can wish. You had three duels (Robertson - Murphy, Ding - Selby, Trump - Wilson), which included arguably six of the world's eight best players (even when two of the matches turned out to be quite one-sided sadly) and another intriguing duel with Gould - Yan.
Was great to see Gould having such a great run, but to be honest I expected him to get back to good form after what we saw at the World Championship.
Same is true for Mark Selby, who had glimpses of his excellence returning at the World Championship (especially in his match vs. Neil Robertson) and I think he will more and more return to form again.
