The irony of the situation was that Ronnie started doing to Mark Allen exactly what he himself complained about with Selby in the Worlds semi finals ,taking nearly two minutes a shot ,just to put Allen off .I doubt Ronnie would have got up to any of these tricks if he was playing well and was 5- 3 up ,I guess he was frustrated because he was playing well in the afternoon and well below par in this match .These Rasson tables seem really good , McManus was talking as if they are using a different cloth as well ,but most of the time he talks bollox anyway ,so it’s hard to say .

The problem with these televised tournaments with no audience is that every little sound and movement must only come from the people present, ref, opponent and tv crew. Ronnie said that Mark was fiddling with his stick on 888 logo while sat in his chair in his eyeline and also wasn't taking his seat when Ronnie as at the table.
I take on board Mark fiddling with his logo, he should keep still while in his seat, but there's no reason why he shouldn't remain standing when Ronnie is obviously playing a safety and he would only have to get up again seconds later. Ronnie looking for an excuse to lose ? I think not, something else going on in his life and taking it out on someone else ? probably.

The table is a twelve by six 9 ball table IMO, too easy for such talented players.

I've had my share of youtube warriors having a dig at me along with others thanking me for some enlightening info on the history of the game. I always ask them to join the forum and get themselves educated by those who actually play the game and to stop following youtube trolls who once had a go and failed and think all the pros are modern gods and the past masters irrelevent.

I don’t think the tables are bucket pockets myself ,most of these shots and high breaks are due to the ultra thin cloth and heated Tables .In the early 80’s to early 90’s the cloths heavy and tables were un heated but the pockets were bigger ,players had to work the ball more ,Alex Higgins ,Jimmy White and a few others had tremendous cue power ,and for their style of play it was an advantage ,now it’s no longer an advantage as everyone can move the ball around with little effort ,float the cue ball around with out hitting it hard ,more balls go in .Put those old cloths on these tables and turn the heaters off and i’m Pretty certain you won’t see 6 tons in 7 frames very often .

It started slow and looked like Selby would bore Neil into defeat but actually it did turn into a great game!

They have been involved in some cracking matches. They seem to bring the best out of each other.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Sorry if it's been covered but can someone please explain the logic behind the refs wearing face masks?

                          strange match
as he said in the interview after, maybe it was "stir-crazy" that got in his head?

I really try to like trump, I want to like trump, but when he loses, his interviews are so disingenuous. I appreciate that having your arse kicked 6 - 1 isn't particularly pleasant and it hurts, as it should do if you're ever going to be a winner, but he displays a distinct lack of class in offering nothing to his victorious opponent. Even Ronnie, after yesterday's argy-bargy said how well Mark played, and as much as I dislike him, fair dues, he usually does. Trump on the other hand is almost always ingracious in defeat, which is a very childish weakness IMO.

Maybe he's upset because his granddad lost the election.

I tried to 'like' your post cue crafty, but the like button seems to be another thing that doesn't work around here.

                            The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Judd is Judd, Petulent, Arrogant and all about the glamour. I don't care who wins the final now, just glad it won't be Judd involved.
