I can hardly remember an overly poor performance from a chinese player in any tournament , easy to be a bit biased because of their free streams but its almost a guarantee to be assured of some quality when they’re on , how many teenagers of their’s are on tour like ten ? bit sad in a way too as most british kids think you need to be some genius to be a snooker pro , you really don’t its just about familiarity and keenness on decent tables .
I like Joe but agree he talks too much as if he has to fill the silence with babble. I miss the days of when the commentators would be quiet for a few shots especially when a player is on a break. I hope John Virgo is involved this week.
who was the worst commentator? Mike Hallet used to grind on me.....
How do you think Hazel got the job in the first place? Her unrivalled snooker knowledge?

To be fair to Hazel Irvine she is an actual journalist and had a career in commentary on a wide range of sports before she got the snooker gig. I watch Eurosport coverage so I haven't seen who has replaced her but like all things nowadays I bet it's with a " presenter" rather than an actual sports journalist.

Case in point, 18yo Chang Bingyu giving Mark Allen a good run for his money, never seen him play before. 4 - 4 atm.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

You'd win that bet, my friend, because that's exactly what they've done, and it cheapens the whole presentation of the coverage.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"
