Cheers Dean, what a brilliant clearance, You could tell he was up for it after 3rd Red (i think ) under blue, was a lot easier to go for blue or pink. He desreved a round of applause at least, even his opponent didn't appear to clap, maybe it's becoming all too familiar.
I do think Un-Nooh and Stuart did share a smile but Un-Nooh was just off camera; also a fist-pump with Paul Collier
Aside from the fact that it is bad behaviour by Gary Wilson.
But I would argue that this should have automatically been a loss of frame. The referee should have taken this as concession I think.
Higgins would have had an easy red to the middle, when he got to the table. So he was left with nothing.

I personally do not see it as a concession and I don't think John Higgins did either.
The referee is not there to accept a concession, it is the opponent
I don't see it as "loss of frame" due to unsporting conduct behaviour, possible a warning but not straight to loss of frame
Next shot by Gary hit put a red over the pocket for Higgins - he also apologies verbally to John after the frame.

Yeah, I know he did it with the next shot. Still this should have been at very least a warning. Smash your cue if you want, but you can't shoot around balls like that.

What is the rule for such a shot apart from it being an obvious foul?

Yes , definitely a loss of frame , he WILFULLY and INTENTIONALLY played a second shot slamming the ball, reminds me of last nights capers in Washington and a 2 year old having a tantrum . FFS !! Dominic Dale was furious and rightly so . He should also be deducted one point from his score from his previous games. If snooker descends to this level its meeting the level of street thug , same type of behaviour as Ronnie playing on for 109 snookers and eating mouthfuls of crisps during interviews . New rules need to be added

I don't know. I'd say this is a case for the discretionary of the referee. But in my opinion it should at least be a warning
Probably Dean knows.
On twitter Mark Williams and Rob Milkins weighed in and meant this had to be an immediate loss of frame. Obviously they are no refs, but always interesting to see what players think.

That's terrible, to be fair we have all been there, I have seen that a couple of times in comps, it's just sheer frustration but the player has conceded. At least Wilson rolled one over the bag next shot. Should have been a warning, very close to a frame docked but he just gets away with it imo.

the rules cover this situation: Sec 3.16 Ball Intentionally Moved
Other than striking the cue-ball to commence a stroke, or contacting a ball during a consultation period, if any ball is intentionally moved or picked up by the striker from the playing area, it will be deemed forced off the table.
(a) The referee shall call FOUL and the non-offender may then:
(i) elect to play themselves or request their opponent to play again from the position left;
(ii) in case of a Red, elect to have the Red replaced to its position prior to the infringement or removed, and play themselves or request their opponent to play again from where the balls have come to rest;
(iii) in case of a colour, elect to have the colour replaced to its position prior to the infringement or spotted, and play themselves or request their opponent to play again from where the balls have come to rest; or
(iv) in case of the cue-ball, elect to have the cue-ball replaced to its position prior to the infringement and play themselves or request their opponent to play again from where the balls have come to rest, or play themselves from in-hand, or request their opponent to play from in-hand.
(b) In a situation where a moving ball is intentionally moved or picked up, the referee shall make the best possible decision in the interest of fair play.
