I must admit Im happy to be wrong LOL. With Trump, Selby and Robertson out. I couldn?t really see any of the ones left defeating O?Sullivan, but great that Higgins is back to his best, because then he?ll always be able to challenge O?Sullivan. Very interesting who will win now. It?s really an open field.

        Well deserved win for Yan.
Third Masters match, third decider, third win.

Now he could become the first debutant to win the title since Mark Selby.

Well done, Yan. He showed he was human in those last couple of frames, choking on 1 or 2 pressure pots. Came good in the end, though, and held his nerve well.

I think Yan has won a few fans this week. I couldn't stand him TBH, before this Masters, but seeing a few smiles from him and his interview today and the great performances he has put in, have made me warm to him. The moment Maggs shakes his hand was pretty special too, thats pretty saying you have won the right to be here and its acknowledged.

I have been thinking this for a while now, I don't know what you think about it. During the last year I have heard different players, including Ding (!), answering the question "When will we have the first Chinese World Champion?" in the same way, like "I don't see anybody" and, if making specific names, Yan was never mentioned. As I see it, Yan is now pretty much the same player Kyren was 3 years ago, with the advantage of being much younger. So, if Kyren gets so much credit as a future WS champion, why so many players don't believe in Yan? If I had to bet between the two (about winning any time in the future, not about who wins first), I would actually place my money on Yan. OK, throw me your rotten tomatoes now, I'm ready

hTe obvious choice is Ding. He has what it takes except maybe the mental strength and that?s in the end maybe the most important thing. From the young generation Yan could be a good choice 5 - 10 years from now. He?s always to some extent overshadowed by Zhao Xintong and Zhou Youelong who are probably more talented, but to me Yan seems like a more complete player. He still?s got a lot to prove but maybe he could be the next Steve Davis, John Higgins type of player strong in all aspects of the game.

                        • Thanks to HD Tv I can see much more chalk crumbs on the table tonight compared to chalk Mark lines etc from the older chalk used.

I hardly get any chalk crumbs with the 2.0 green coloured Taom

                              • Looks like Gilbert surrendered out of tiredness/ exhaustion/ boredom with that unnecessary incursion in the pack after potting the blue.
