    [QUOTE=PatBlock;n1006323]

Even at 5 - 1 it felt like a foregone conclusion. So, another Jack v Judd final, should make for some entertaining fireworks, I'd like to see Jack take it, either way, it's great to see him at the sharp end of another tourney. Is this the start of another great rivalry? Albeit an amicable one? I hope so.

-[/QUOTE Couldn't agree more ,pleased Trump beat Hawkins ,but on the other side of the coin I think Jack would have better chance of lifting this title with Trump out the way ,he’s playing well enough to win it though if he can keep to the right shot selection .

Agree about the right shot selection , hope he does not begin to "twitch" a bit as he says himself. If he sees the finish line approaching can he be relaxed and calm enough to nail the last frame . Hope so , he has all the talent in the world. I remember that the Dave Gilbert got into a couple almost consecutive finals and choked a bit. Amazing what snooker will do to you

Can't understand why people gravitate to Trump? People like who they like, granted. I liked Schumacher, others may of detested him, but Trump just seems like he has an issue, too much money going to the head. If Selby or Robertson or Higgins or Williams or Ronnie had been 1 of the players Judd had faced instead of those he did, would he of got this far? I suspect not, none of those bottle it like Hawkins did.

Good luck Jack, hoping for a miracle.

Shame Jack couldn't level up to 2 - 2 after laying that snooker behind the green, the same green he then missed by quite a way, handing the frame to Judd, bit unlucky not to finish on something easier after bringing the reds off the cushion, but that's the chance you take. So 3 - 1 it is then, he needs to win the next couple I feel, to stand a chance.

Gutted for Jack, losing all 4 of the close frames has done for him. Can’t blame Judd for being merciless but also can’t help wishing for a little luck for Jack to make it a better closer match.

Jack said yesterday that he would need to bring his A game and Trump to have on off day for him to have any chance. That mentality and mindset he was beaten before he picked up a cue today.

There's a very good chance that Judd would have beaten any of those guys you mention here.

It's been nearly 3 years since Ronnie beat Judd, he's won 5 of their last 6 matches.
You have to go back 6 years for the last time Selby beat Judd in anything meaningful. (I don't count the Micky Mouse best of 5 Championship league matches, toss of a coin)
Similar with Williams, Judd's won 5 of their last 6 meaningful matches, you have to go back to 2018 for the last time MJW beat him in a proper match.
As for Higgins, Judd's beaten him in their last 6 meaningful matches, including that 18 - 9 battering he gave him in the 2019 WC Final
He's also 16 - 19 up on Robertson in their head to heads.

Maybe this is why people gravitate toward him, he's an entertaining winner. And a little arrogance around the table is a requirement for any great player, nothing wrong with that, and you surely can't deny that Judd is a great player? I've criticised him in the past for his lack of humility in defeat, but of course no one likes to loose, and he's getting better in that department too. Honestly, I think you're being a little hard on him, he's not such a bad lad.

Yep agreed, that’s no kind of mentality to have unless you are super confident and trying to get in your opponents head to give them a false security.

jack needs more belief, that’s the biggest difference between these two. Judd now has it in spades and Jack is trying to acquire some... hard lines.

Its a pity Jack has'nt the belief in himself that Kyren Wilson has and wjith respect to Kyren , Jack is a more gifted and talented player but Kyren will fight to the bitter end and knows he can beat anybody , cause he believes it

Well said! I agree. Judd has become a complete player with a great overall game that now makes him hard to turn over, even on his B game. I would only add that, how good would it be if Jack's belief had a boost and we all got to watch some proper ding dong matches between the two!?

Glad I didn't watch that 1 sided garbage. A full strength field would of been far more entertaining. Skip the excuse for snooker in the shoot out.
