Just did a bit of research. The last tournament when a player won over 80 percent of his frames at a ranking event was at the 1993 Dubai Classic, when Hendry won 30 of 36 frames (83,3 %).

Hendry reached also 87,5 percent for a tournament at the 1990 Dubai Classic, winning 35 ouf of 40 frames.

If you look at just the venue stage, I think Neil Robertson also won 30 out of 36 in last year's European Masters.

Yes, you are right. Don't know how I overlooked that.

Though there might be some others as well. I only looked at the finals of all ranking tournaments and then clicked on every tournament where the champion lost 3 or less frames in the final only.
