Stuart Bingham on the other hand used to work in an orphanage ran by my aunty who was a nun, he got sacked as he used to steal all the poor kids puddings and lock himself in the janitors cupboard and eat them all. He was in his early twenties then and that was the start of his weight problems. Shaun Murphy has been and still is to this day the world gurning champion a title he won at the egremont crab fair in 2001 and has never really had any close rival since. You can see him after every break that ends on thirty after an unexplained miss, practice his world class ability. Kyren Wilson welll what can I say abou

Is that were Bingham bought his bridge hand?

    • One of the things that Selby is utterly brilliant at is the use of a long bridge. I've never seen anyone stretch that far with what looks like 18 inches of bridge and still not only be accurate with a pot but screw the length of the table. I don't think there's another pro on the circuit as good at this, it's quite extraordinary. ( Possibly because I struggle with this it impresses me so much )

It's a bit childish to say but now I've thought of The Chase I can't get it out of my head.
Good point about Murphy. I always think he tries a bit too much to be a good sportsman and ambassador for the sport and maybe tries to tell good stories to promote the sport or also doesn't want to give standard answers.

Yeah, you are right about this.
I myself also hate playing with a long bridge.

As for Selby he did well getting somehow to 4-4 playing that terrible for most of the session. I wonder if this will affect Bingham negative, thinking he should be at least 5-3 in front or if Bingham thinks positive about how well he played.

            • Hendry can be harsh and it's a bit far to say Murphy 'has been dogged his whole career' with careless shots after he hit the middle jaw at the start of the second frame. He does make mistakes but as a winner of the top three it's not like he will be remembered as an under achiever. I like Hendry in the commentary box because he doesn't talk all the time so there are nice quiet periods but he he can be harsh at times.

              • Interesting manner from Shaun here, showing frustration. Looks as if he has started to believe he can win the tournament which is bad news for him imo. He plays better when he is just knocking balls about.

It's a funny thing that isn't it, never a good idea to suddenly "wake up" and realise you have a chance. It's guaranteed to be become ten times harder immediately!! If this carries on I can see a bewildered lord of the manor gurning in dismay that the balls are being disobedient.

                  • Kyren on quite a roll there... really hitting the ball sweetly. Impressive I gotta say.

                    • Is it just me or has Murphy's manner round the table completely changed for this tournament? Usually he would be doing his gurning, tapping the table when his opponent plays a good shot. Now he just looks angry lol.

                      • I think Shaun might have been listening to everyone calling him a can't.

                        • 'The tables are a joke. Barely been any close frames as no one misses. Destroying their own product with this farce.'

                          • Losing that frame would have been a good lesson for Wilson, but Murphy let him off the hook. Big session for Murphy tomorrow.

                            • I think if Kyren plays like that and wins this match, then plays like that again In the final and wins then fair play to him. I can knock a few things about him that annoy me but I can't argue with play like that.

I think it's nonsense. Same gets said every year. If the tables get easier every time someone says this, there would be more pocket than cushion. Not saying the cushions aren't tight or anything, I have no idea, but we don't get football fans saying the goals are getting bigger every time Messi scores a goal.
