Great match as you say . I’m glad Gary has found a bit of form as it looked like his head was going at one point.
I can’t work out if I like Hamilton as a commentator tbh. One thing he does right though is not to talk just for the sake of talking .

It's good just to hear someone different I think. As a good players he calls the shots well and as you say doesn't waste breath on nonsense talk. He's a good bloke and hasn't had the best of luck lately so nice to see there's a place for him after his career. I have the feeling he could get better as time goes by.

He’s better than some of the BBC commentators already !

General sigh of relief from all the Sheffield contenders, John Higgins has not brought his Platinum game to the table. He is not firing on all 12 cylinders , not even on 11 . But maybe he will warm into his game ?

He got there in the end, but with a lot of help from Pengfei who simply fell apart. I hope it was just first round colliwobbles for John, he wouldn't be the first.

Good stuff from Kyren, definite potential banana skin that one, very enjoyable match.

He has a steely determination to fight and could give O Sullivan all sorts of trouble if the giggling flatulater starts off badly. Higgins was there for the taking but Tian let him off the hook , those missed yellows were shocking .

Good temperament is debatable after last years handbags at 5 paces lol... he always looks so angry to me, like he could blow any second? I think Ronnie will be to good for him, especially with added expectation now on McGill. Should be a good match though!

true but it just shows how valuable good tablecraft is which the chinese has , even when he's lax with potting or any tactical shot he still keeps his composure knowing his next shot might be telling , his calmness possibly rubbed higgins up the wrong way too but yes a few too many misses in the end

i don't know that ' scene ' was after about nine or ten frames played , he probably had it in his mind earlier to say something but withheld , clarke probably should have been more conscious to get out of his eyeline i wouldn't put anything on mcgill for that just a bit of lack of experience from clarke i think
