Weird situation, as it wasn't really one of those snookers that are really tough to hit and the miss keeps being called for some reason. Wilson should have got that within a few attempts really.

Yeah i agree ,every table plays different ,rubber is cut by hand ,the cloth is a natural product ,how the blocks are fitted pocket shape ,slight difference in cushion height ,temperature etc .One thing that you can be sure of is when you get a low down camera angle from behind the pocket and see a ball catch the outside jaw and drop ,it always looks bad ,see that shot from a different angle and it looks not too bad .Too many people that play on tight Billiard tables from years ago complain that these shots wouldn't go in at their club ,and thats true ,but some of those tables are hard as the cushions are slightly longer and you can't have the same size opening at the slate fall and at the back of the pocket ,they narrow at the pocket plate which makes shots near the cushion almost impossible at pace .Now World snooker never used to change the cushion cloth all the time like they do now ,its not needed ,only the bed cloth needs changing ,the reason these tables play iffy with new cushion cloth on is because the cloth is tight, slightly pulling down on the rubber ,this cause slide and balls to sometimes die off the bounce as the rubber is slightly compressed .Useing a slightly heavier no 10 cloth of 35oz which was used a few years ago instead of the 30 oz would make the game more of a level playing field ,then you have a situation where the aramith balls don't play as well on the heavier cloth .Its a minefield out there .

so no roll up snookers can be played and the scenario of countless 'foul and a miss' replacing of the balls would be cut dramatically. Why is that idiotic ?

I like Ronnie's take on the table situation. It's the same exam paper for both players, and so it's down to the players to adapt and work with what they've got. Basically, get on with it.

It seems with these cheaper made Chinese tables inconsistency in bounce, speed, slide and pockets will remain constant.

Regarding the pockets and cloths as was mentioned ,they use standard heavier 6811 tournament on the cushions and the twice cut no 10 on the bed cloth .As for the Rasson tables looking like they have bigger pockets ,that may be true ,the champion of champions event and the league don’t come under the W P B S A rules ,both these events are contracted out to Rasson who use their own templates ,Rasson tables middles are trickier though and are cut to a slightly different shape .When Rasson get the W P. B S A tour contract the corner pockets will be cut to the same 3’3/8 size that they are now and have been since 1991 .

Will be interesting to see what Kyren has left in the tank in the next session, he has produced his best in the first sessions, but can he maintain it. After Shaun's fist pump I hope he steps up in the next session and makes it closer so we can see how Kyren responds.

Trust me Billy, that's a great shot with a rest to pot that yellow and run round the angles with enough pace to get good on the green.
