Sorry can’t remember exactly but it took over an hour. Prob be frame 2 or 3 of evening session. Ben Williams said something like.. “Mark...it’s been nearly three minutes...I need you to consider a shot”.

Agree big time on both counts. I was just happy to have sports back when last year's World's was on but it's not the same sport without the crowd. Those 'ooohs' & 'aaahs' & smatterings of applause go a long way to building up an atmosphere. Also have loved Bingham's interaction with them tonight. He's clearly having such fun out there.

        Thanks. I'll have a look.

        • Makes me laugh when the ref and assistant ref get confused about which direction each other means when re-positioning balls after a foul. It's not hard to set a standard such as always referring to it from the perspective of where the ref is standing. Then it just becomes a case of forward, backward, left, right.

          • The assistant referee sees what we (the TV viewers) see, right? So why then when the table ref was asking for help to replace the cue ball, was Paul Collier not telling him he needed to move the cue ball back towards him by at least half a ball? It was perfectly clear to me it wasn’t in the right place, so why wasn’t it to him?
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

              • What a *bleep* Selby is for not conceding there...Five 4 point snookers needed for God's sake @ 11:30 at night!

                • Just roll the reds over a bag, Stuart, for Pete’s sake. Why the **** are you playing safety shots when your opponent needs 4 snookers????

Is that about the long red that Stuart missed a few frames ago and the cue ball was re-spotted? Stuart mentioned it three times to the ref that the cue ball should be further to the left and three times the ref appeared to be moving the cue ball but it didn't move. I praise Stuart for keeping his cool because it was like the ref was thinking he can pretend to move the cue ball. It didn't affect the outcome of the frame because Stuart got it safe on his second attempt but that is an area that they need to brush up on. Especially when the worlds best referees are saying "do you mean towards you or away from you" to the assistant ref.

No, I don’t think so. It was a few shots ago when Stuart had to screw it round the yellow slightly, to land dead weight on a red. But I know exactly what you mean about the refs moving the ball without moving it.

                      • That was a very enjoyable session. Good stuff from Bingham throughout, he made the breaks when he needed to, and he also responded well to Selby's mini comeback and all the grindy stuff.

                        • I missed all of yesterday’s play, the level of scoring in the Bingham match was very high . I’ll be lying on the sofa nursing a hangover watching it today

Mini comeback? He’s drawn within two frames of Ballrun. I’d say that was just short of a full-on comeback.

                              • Mini comeback as in winning two frames in a row.
