Is there any watch fanatics on here? I’m trying to ID Stephen’s but the cameraman won’t give me a good shot of it. Ronnie’s gone a bit retro of late with the Casio A168W, but I suspect Stephen’s cost a little more than £23

[QUOTE=Stony152;n1012406]This tournament is a complete joke and travesty. So far the higher seeded players are 21-19. Might as well just flip a coin before the match and not bother playing. And the 2nd and 3rd seeds and the 109th and 110th ranked players playing in the first round is just stupid. I don't see a rationale for any of it. And having an English Open, British Open, and UK Championship is also dumb. I've been on the planet for 61 years and still don't know or care to find out what the difference between GB and the UK is. There, now I feel better.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Billy ,it looks either a Tag diver or Rolex ,you can see the bezel ,looks a bit muted colour face for a tag ,but it’s hard to say ,I’m going with Rolex ,maybe

The old boys are doing pretty well in the first round , all the following won their first matches . Anthony Hamilton, Hendry, Higgins, Dale, Pinches ,Doherty, Jimmy White, Mark Williams, old lads rule. How many will survive second hurdle I wonder ? Predictions ?

Hendry looked good in the fist frame and first half of the second frame ,he tailed off but tuffed it out ,White is looking the best he has for some time ,I didn’t see any of the Doherty match but sounds like he was on it too .With quite a lot of seeds going out there’s a good chance of some of the older guys going a bit deeper in this one .

i thought aaron hill looked suspiciously rubbish against jimmy white , not suggesting anything untoward maybe its just that hazy lazy time of year start of the season or something , and nothing against white winning i'm not that bothered , same thing with jackson page against maguire , the standard in the hamilton vs boiko match was shocking , its kind of sad if neither player has anything outside of snooker to fall back on i think.

Jackson plays in a lot of ProAm’s down at my local club in Stratford, he usually dominates so I was surprised to see the 3-0 loss to Maguire in a best of 5!? Did you watch the match Mr T? I’m guessing he just didn’t turn up on the day?

                          • I’m not surprised Maguire won so easily ,he’s a class player on form ,it’s just he’s not on form much these days ,but capable of beating anyone on a good day .

                            • cant quote , yeah Steve i was switching between that match and others , he'd like a lot of shots back but i remember he said he has a poor record vs the top players , partly i suppose because it is what it is but also i'd guess because he's seen as mark williams protege so its a bit more than playing a less known player from the q school , statement of intent if you will.

I noticed Hendry still seems to have the yips on the odd shot. Generally last night he looked calm and composed around the table but on the odd bad shot he took the cue back then just lunged forward without timing the hit.

I heard McManus say "he threw a quick on in there" once or twice....

                                Anyone else notice?
