    Anyone else notice?
Yeah a few times but mostly with the rest which for want of a better phrase can be a bit 'yippish' for many. Hendry did strike the ball a dream at times, i'm not surprised his position was all over the place and there were signs of mental fatigue after a couple of frames.
I know Chris and he looked unfocused as though the occasion got to him a bit playing Hendry. He's far better than his display last night.

Yes, I remember you saying that you've played Chris in the past I think, just shows the levels in this game and just how good you have to be especially when on "centre stage". I noticed with Chris also that he seems to have adopted some new techniques in his pre shot routine. He sights the ball, then gets down a little bit like Sunny Akani does (not as pronounced though as Akani)

This just shows the levels good players will go to to try and ingrain a more consistent game that stands up under pressure consistently.

          Hi CueCrafty,
Yes Chris is a local lad from the Atack, he has a lot of bottle just looked off it last night, must be hard playing Hendry, huge/surreal occasion for anybody.
Agree with what you said about his pre shot, Chris has always seemed quite methodical in his approach but then he does this down the club and doesn't miss.
On levels, I guess the thing with levels is that everybody has their own ceiling, I hope Chris hasn't hit his but you can clearly see some players belong at a certain level and tend to stagnate around that but you're right, you won't find many professionals who don't have a degree of discipline for their technique.

My next "IT Support" suggestion, to show my IT-expertise, would have been "have you turn it off and back on again?"

              • Hendry never really looked like Hendry ,he scrapped it out but at don’t think he’ll do that well playing like that ,both players had loads of chances to win ,it could just be one of those games .Not sure we will see a full on attacking Hendry again ,he just doesn’t have the confidence ,let’s not forget he’s in his 50’s and had the yips in his 30’s ,even Ronnie has gone downhill now with consistency .Good to see him back though ,even though he’s not the same player .

                • good hard fought win there for captain carter vs the q school kid lei peifan , i don’t know these short formats arent bad at all for me , its just an adjustment thing from the 80’s i suppose.

                  • I don’t mind a few short format random draw tournaments ,there’s always a decent match on at some point of the day ,as long as they don’t meddle with the rules of the game then it’s ok .Anything’s better than that Mickey Mouse joke of a tournament the shoot out .

                    • I'd prefer watching matches with the so called lesser lights , rather than constant watching the Top 16 .

I like the random draw , as we get to see a few different players on the TV tables .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

                      • I wonder what the deal is putting the rests back to normal during the champions league and then putting them back to post Covid positions and separate rests for the players for this tournament? It's a bit OTT as touching a rest is no different to touching the table. I thought they'd finally seen sense at the champions league.

i can hardly remember when i wasnt all for that , it would take a shake up among the broadcasters though , you'd need a proper review ,its like theres a ' we dont really know what we're doing so we'll employ hendry and stick to the top players that he knows ' ,how would fans of lower ranked players get any representation or promotion ?

I think this is what WST agrees with Government to approve the going ahead of the event; this was probably some while back, say before the agreement for the CLS. - maybe - maybe not

Thanks, chaps. I suspected a Rolex but as you both say, couldn’t get a good enough look.
