  • What drama! This has got to be better or tied with that World SF of 2020 in that regard. I am gutted. Well done John.

    • Camera showed someone in the audience that looked gutted after John took it to a deciding frame. Wondering if he has a large wager on Ronnie to win.

I think its just a symptom of the lack of sponsors interest in snooker , i signed up to nfl game pass ( american football ) and even though i couldn’t give an electrons ars.e about commercials there’s still little drop off in interest for me when they come on as they're all good and funny even though they virtually completely don’t apply to me.

                • Huge slice of luck there for Higgins to get over the line but Ronnie had enough chances to close it out. Would love to see King make the final.

To be fair, Ronnie had plenty of good running throughout that match, but it evened out in the end, as it usually does with a long enough match.

                    • Higgins blaming the kicks on Ronnie for using Triangle chalk, to be fair Ronnie tried Taom but miscued a few times so went back to Triangle. I think Ronnie should go back to Master chalk, he used that for many years. My twopenneth worth about the kicks is well known, when it's humid there are kicks no matter what chalk is used because the balls are crap, Ronnie needs to understand this and not blame his tip or his cue action every time he misses one thick.
Did Ronnie have the AC turned off because it was making a noise? if so he has no one to blame but himself, then again AC should only be needed in the summer but if it stops cold damp winter humidity then it's neccessary in a snooker venue.

but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

(apart from all the fun mocking Kyren brings, I do respect what he brings to the table and I'm pretty sure he's a good lad, just to point that out)
Just mocking for fun too, I am actually an admirer of all pros for all the incredible things they create on the table and Kyren is no exception. Actually, I owe Kyren a lot. I didn't know anything about snooker - not even the rules - until 2018, when by pure chance I decided to watch BBC2 live: they were showing Wilson-Trump, semifinal of the masters (then won by Mark Allen). Kyren made a tremendous comeback to defeat Judd. After watching that, I started studying the game, its history, and eventually decided to pick up a cue and learn to play it. Three years later I am a happy local league player who never expected it. Starting at an age at which most pros retire, it made me feel a kid again! You see, had it been another match on Table 1 that evening, I would not be here now...

                        • I get the feeling Ronnie was gearing up to lose in the semi final with all this tip complaining .Most of the kicks these days are caused by non Taum chalk ,but as Vmax said the balls are not great these days and only work in perfect conditions .Has any one played TC balls on slow heavy tables and if so do they perform badly .

I heard a bloke on the radio the other day, lost his wife, family and house through gambling. Said he'd do anything to win them back.

Nice post Zelig. Really pleased for you, that you stumbled into the greatest sport on the planet. Be careful though, it can sometimes turn into an unhealthy obsession.
