Id say no Jim, reached six finals and came up against two opponent's who played better on their days, luck plays a part too, coming up against a Judd who had the momentum in his career to win a first when Ronnie met a first time finalist in Kyren for his sixth! There is some trade off there imo. I think it shows in recent matches with Ron and John, that although Ron would love to win and play well, he is happy with his lot whereas John still badly wants to prove something.

I guess the only person it really matters to is Higgins himself, my guess is he wants 5 minimum. He's certainly still good enough to add more world titles, time will tell. Ronnie wants to at least match Hendry on 7 and I think he will.

I think you're right . I believe we will still see stunning and brilliant displays by Ronnie from time to time but to sustain for the long duration of the World Championship seems beyond him now . I hope that we proven wrong though ! If Trump hammers John in this final like he did to Wilson it will be a bitter blow . The so called class of 92 could be on borrowed time

I think I've had my first "senior moment" there saying six!! The memory ain't what it was!! So a 50% success rate in finals then... And Ronnie's contested in seven and won six!

John raises his game when he plays Ronnie, Ronnie's respect for John is now bordering on fear and the latest results head to head bear that out IMO. For John to win more world titles he has to play as well against others as he does against Ronnie and that could be beyond him. I think a tournament itself doesn't inspire John as much as the opponent whom everyone describes as the greatest of all time against which he has a more than respectable record and who he has been beating since the age of fourteen when he sent Ronnie crying to his dad when he found someone who brought him crashing down to earth.

Judd played awesome last night, got the run of the balls which you need, but capitalised on it to the max, can't see anyone beating him tomorow.
