The thing is though that consistency is one of the main things that separates great from very good players. And this is a department both players are lacking in. So far both have been very aggressive players, who can win if they pot well enough, but if they don't their all-around game has not been good enough.

Frame success isn't a bad stat when to look how players perform, but as with most stats you have to take it with a grain of salt. A point that pops into ones eye when looking at this list is how biased it is towards today players. Maybe that's because of the short formats nowadays and the bigger fields. In 128 player draws you can have the one or two "easy" opponents first, while in the old days you almost always played a "good player" early on.
Also a 6-1 win is not necessarily better than a 6-5. You just have to win.

I agree with that, but on the flip side frame success is higher if the player is more dominant. A 6-5 win has a high degree of luck involved, while a 6-1 win usually means the winner was a lot better than his opponent. Of course there are many other factors, but I like the top 10 it generated.

Well, the match got a bit scrappy after the opening two frames. You can see that Brecel is a bit frustrated with the way it's going, I think he was expecting it to be a little more fluent, but he can't quite find his scoring form from the last few days. And the occasional misfortune doesn't help either. Zhao, on the other hand, seems like he's accepted the match for what it is, and is just trying to do his best under the circumstances. Hopefully the standard rises a little for the evening session.

Yeah, I laugh when I hear people say that the Eurosport coverage is better than what is on BBC.. Ronnie and Jimmy is like a comedy act. Ronnie over the top praising players to make up for the times when he calls the numptys. And both of them with their mangling of the English language. Sometimes Jimmy seems coherent and sometimes I just think he's drunk. McManus is OK, but the Scottish accent is just too much for me. It looks like McManus is eating well in retirement. It's like Higgins transferred 30 pounds to him. Why does Hendry not have such an annoying accent? Foulds is good, but Joe Johnson is awful. Dominic Dale has potential. And as far as the play by play guys, I can't tell who is who between Dave Hendon, Studd, and the other one whose name I forget. They are all way too excited and positive about everything and enamored with things like momentum that don't exist.

To me Virgo and Dennis Taylor will always be the gold standard. I'm sad that their time is coming to an end. Doherty is twice as annoying as McManus in terms of accents. Tree points. Parrott and Davis are fine in the studio, but aren't nearly as good calling matches. Sean Murphy is doing the extra gig to "put more food on his table" No comment. And finally, I love listening to Hendry talk about snooker. He can come off as a bit arrogant, but I think he's earned the right to do so.

its those genius ions in the air that still emanate from his body coming out of zens club in south london in that mystical mid 70's to mid 80's era , how could he not be part of the tour or broadcasting gig ?
