Or like Jan swooping on that wasp!

Sorry. Both are quite beautiful, no doubt, despite Blackadder's opinion that Wales is "a ghastly place".

It was back in the days of the early 20th century, all coal mines and slag heaps and the Port Talbot steelworks took twenty minutes to drive past it, contributed hugely to global warming, and it's still constantly raining
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare

        • I think that episode takes place in the times of Napoleon, so it's a little earlier. But yeah, I was mainly wondering if there was some huge geographical difference between the parts of Wales, because naming something "New South Wales" sounds a little bizarre.

I guess it's kind of sad that this isn't taking place in Scotland, as Higgins said he would love to play McGill tomorrow in an all-Scottish final. He thinks it might be the last one ever, which seems a little pessimistic to me.

lol I meant that they would be angered by your assertion that they were the same!

            • I must say the Eurosport commentators (don't know who they are) are particularly uninspired tonight (first two frames of McGill-Brecel), I am tempted to turn the volume off

Edit: they reached the bottom on the last shot of frame 2. "He did not want to play this shot, I can tell you!" Gosh, Luca's position on the black couldn't be more deliberate!!!

I'm actually kind of disgusted by the noises Joe Johnson makes when he's talking... is anyone else hearing this? Is he wearing a set of lousy fitted false teeth?

Same here, I like Joe but the noises he's making is very distracting. It's like he's eating a roast beef dinner in the commentary box and it's driving me crazy.

                  • This is nothing. There is a commentator who commentates on various sports for the national TV in Slovenia, and he sometimes spents virtually the entire evening audibly clearing his throat after every sentence, and sometimes mid sentence as well. And he commentates while drunk too, on occasion, although that usually ends up being fairly entertaining.

                    • We should get Joe Johnson drunk then...

                        • A-HA! In the Eurosport Player, if you stream "Anotny McGill - Luca Brecel" you have the option "ambient sound" (no commentary and no commercials, just the sound of the balls and the players swearing), whereas if you stream "Scottish Open - E2 Coverage" you are forced to hear the commentary (and the commercials). Didn't know that.

The Fast Show should have had Bob Fleming in the commentary box

Dennis Taylor is guilty of that sometimes but not frequent enough to make me want to throw the TV out the window.
