You can tell Ronnie is just bored with the same old questions and feels irritated by them, so in response he tries to entertain himself with his don't care attitude. He's not very well informed though is he, recently he thought there was still a 147 roll over prize which hasn't been in play for some time and wrong about Georgiou incurring costs it seems.

I guess Ronnie would rather not be interviewed at all but there are sponsor obligations etc. Both sides of the fence could make these interviews better quality tbh media presenters could use a different tact and ask some different questions instead of the same old dross about form and not caring.

Yes, I do agree 100% with the sentiment of helping first round losers cover their costs, I think that's really important for the growth and future of the sport. It's also good to see a few top players using the current major title wins of Yan and Zhao as a platform to protest to sport England about getting better facilities in the UK for the grass roots level.

Yes Ronnie does talk bollox most of the time ,but at least he said facilities for most lower ranked players are dire to say the least and money should be pumped in to the game .Did anyone watch the Perry /Brecell match ? I thought it looked a bit iffy

I have been saying for years that the prize fund scale is way too top heavy, zero prize money for first round is killing many of the up and coming players - and even established players.
As Ronnie said take it off the top, I say more blend it down more fairly through down to the L128; £200,000 for the winner - ok but why "only" £80k for the RU?, the percentage differences between rounds' prizes is out of kilter and needs addressing and quickly

Maybe the new chief of WST commercial can make this is major contribution to the sport?

Yeh, I watched it, Joe started strong but had some shocking bad luck probably should have won the match tbh the way Luca played first off. As you would expect Luca was a bit lack lustre after the UK come down, but I think there was a fair bit riding on this match for Joe points and money wise and that definitely took its toll on him, he played shots and missed that looked like pressure had got too him sadly.

Yes, I would also give prize money to first round losers if its just 500 pounds (which would amount to 32000 pounds for 64 Players) and substract it from the further rounds. Which won‘t be too easy actually, cause it‘s quite a sum even compared to the total prize money and there needs to be a certain clear cut between the single rounds to not devalue the achievement of getting deep into a tournament, which also helps many players, who have the occasional good run.
It doesnt have to be more so there would be still motivation to win a few matches more along the Season, but less pressure about living.

I know Williams advocates this for a long time already. And I also agree with Selbys stance that it needs better facilities for young Players.

IIRC "Contact" do not if they have had their jabs and a negative test - or something like that - but I have stopped following this anymore.
